what does it take to be beautiful?

What does it take to be beautiful?
Does it take strands of gold hair?
How about eyes of fair atmosphere
What about my skin, does it need to resemble silk
 How about that of the rich color of milk?


What does it take to be beautiful?
Do I need feet of a goddess?
To be so beautiful that i can go modest?
Should i paint my nails the color of grace?
And powder heavy grains on to my face?


What does it take to be beautiful?
Should i sing like a bird?
Dance like a flower?
Or should i take charge
 And capture the neck of the Fowler?


How would you define my beauty?
That of a moor?
Black skin as rough as a rusted door?
 My hair drench in molasses
With oversize assets?


Will you cast me out because i'm not beautiful?
That i sing cracked in the shower?
Or because i dance around like a wilted flower?


Will you let me love?
Like a passionate horse?
Will you let me uh... run my course???


Because i am beautiful in my own eyes
The kind of beauty that is on the rise.
