Penguin

Oh love,
I've realized something important,
Really important,

I realized that we are not penguins,
Our relationship isn't life long,

You don't harbor our sacred egg,
And never return from your hunting trips,

Our egg became orphaned,
She was smothered by orphaned mothers,

So i decided to look for you,
I searched in the mountains and pillars of ice,

Slid down cliffs,
And swam through the night,

Where did i find you? No where

You didn't exist,
I thought you did,

But when we turned on the lights,
I saw the puffin who cried penguin.
